Gasoline is now 3.15 a gallon

Ohhh we are going to die!!!!!! Quick string up the horrible oil companies. The nerve of them to have record profits and prices. We deserve free gasoline!!! No mater that oil companies make 9 cent profit on the product vs close to 55 cents in taxes , so hmmm I think the government is profiting far more than the private sector.

If we cut down the majority of the gas taxes we will have more affordable gas, stands to reason.
As for my personal consumption I drive an old Hyundai that gives me 30 mpg highway miles, so my fuel bill has not been outrageous, now this is not an indictment on big cars. I love them and if I could afford one you would see me in a huge Lincoln Navigator.

Now let me say that rather than complaining, living in Chicago allows me to do a lot of my errands on foot, I know not everyone can do this, but my purpose is to limit the use of my car for commuting.

please do not fall to the shrill cries of greed, oil is a freely traded commodity subject to market fluctuations. We must also open our eyes to the fact that India and the Chicoms are competing more aggressively for this resource and that the Iranians are not helping with the act of enriching uranium, so look at the picture from way back and try to capture it's meaning.
