Blago Blago....

I have been wondering for the longest time when Blago would be indicted. He has been at the head of a vast pay for play scheme here in Illinois since his first term. He is a product of the great Chicago machine that has all but killed the chances of anyone that is not a Democrat of ever obtaining office.

This is the main reason that a healthy opposition is needed wether it's a conservative or a liberal one. It is the check and balance that we have lacked in this state for decades. Now we see all the surprised politicians disgusted by our politics. Many people in elected office in Illinois are for a great majority true public servants, but alas once you reach that magic land of Cook County and the city of Chicago it it almost impossible to avoid, and even if you are not corrupt just the mere political rise in this state involves a moral compromise with those that are dirty. so it is an acceptance of the status quo.

Well let us see how long it will take for Blago to leave.

The countdown continues.....

Bye bye Blago

Ahh you really have love Illinois and Chicago politics, and an alumnus will be taking over the reins of government in about a month. I can't wait till someone asks him about our beloved Governor. I will bet the response will be "Blagosomething...well we lived in the same state but really never knew him well" Ohh I cant wait for our Chicago ways to go national, with international.
Wohooo!!!

Vox Populi

The people spoke, I am very proud of my country. While I would never vote for a very liberal candidate, my faith in this country being goo and fair was reinforced.

I had a brief chat with my dearest friend that night ( he is quite the left winger...but I love him like a brother)and he commented on how he was happy and amazed that a black man was elected, I told him that I was not. In that brief moment you can clearly see the difference in outlooks...liberals see America as the problem, conservatives see the promise that is America!

With that in mind let us hope for that brighter future we all seek, and wish the new President elect godspeed for we will be facing many a challenge that will require a steady hand.

Ahh to be a Caudillo

Today shall begin the elevation not of a Pope but what a Pope should be like. I am referring to the man that at first needed a stadium with a temple like background, to rally of  more than ONE MILLION of the masses adoring him. Does this not bother you? Granted it is historic in nature, but do we need to adore a man? Are our lives so empty that Hope and Change trump experience and common sense?

Going back to my original thought only demagogues and petty dictators need the adulation of crowds. Oh well let's see if we can gain some common sense in the next election cycle and move a little more center right.

After a very long absence, my sense of outrage is emerging once more......
