What a ride yhis will be.
After a very long absence I will resume some rants prior to the election, and what a contest this promises to be.

This has been idle too long.
With all the shenanigans with this administration, I think it is time to start a series of small rants. So I will set some time this week to start posting a few observations.

R.I.P. Andrew Breitbart
What a whirlwind, crusader, larger than life man you were! I was really sad and very reflective at the news of your death. My condolences to your family, friends, and readers.

September 11th and what it means to me
Tempus fugit is Latin for time flies. As humans we have a great ability to transcend many events in our lives. We focus on the present and have expectations about things to come.
It has been 10 years since that gorgeous morning. How normal a day, with people going to work to the towers, police, and fire stations. Just such ordinary lives.
Time passes for us; but to those that lost loved ones there will be always an empty seat at any gathering or family event. They will not forget. I think today about my old apartment building and my neighbor Emma loosing many friends that worked for the NY branch of the company she worked for. As i tend to do when I need to reflect I took a walk to the lake and there at the beach a small memorial to someone's dad whom had just perished. How personal it becomes.
As ordinary people we have heroes, history teaches us about their deeds. Well September the 11th was a day full of them. From those first responders that knew the risks that they faced. Such grace and gallantry is to be admired and remembered. In an era of "me" they remind us that caring for others is a key component in life. We also have the passengers of flight 93; that with a full knowledge of events, chose to take action and not fall prey to the machinations of others. We know those actions spared the lives of others, could I ever be so brave?
I really hope I could.
So today as we go with our daily routines, please do pause for a few minutes and think of what has passed, and please fly your flag today.

Convenient
I just had a quick thought this morning, how come liberals are so willing to defend vague constitutional rights but are so ready to fight against actual enumerated rights? Just wondering...

Back for a few more rants.
As I start my 4th month of unemployment, a return to some commentaries is in order. It will be some sort of regular ramblings, not always grammatically correct for English is a second language and sometimes it will not be as clear. So forgive the scribe.

Health care for all
Well I just finished watching the vote, pity it was not an old fashioned roll call, and I can't help thinking. If the bill is so good why did it take democrats so long to convince each other? It's not like they needed Republican support.
Is it my traditional distrust of government being the provider of goods and services, or more cynicism of my part? I just can't help thinking of the ultimate financial cost.
Well meybe this will work out better than Social Security or Medicare.
